Turkey is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, stretching from the Mediterranean Sea’s northeast end in southeast Europe to southwest Asia. The Black Sea is to the north, and the Aegean Sea is to the west. Greece and Bulgaria to the west, Russia, Ukraine, and Romania to the north and northwest (through the Black Sea), Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Iran to the east, and Syria and Iraq to the south, are its neighbors.

LEGAL BASE FOR TURKISH CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT. Article 20 of the Regulation on the Implementation of the Turkish Nationality Law (“Regulation”), which specifies the exceptional circumstances in which Turkish nationality is granted, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 106 (“Decree”), which was published in the Official Gazette on September 19, 2018 and took effect on the same date.

Article 20 of the Regulation now includes a new requirement for getting Turkish citizenship. Accordingly, Turkish citizenship can be obtained through a Presidential decree if the Capital Markets Board determines that a foreigner has purchased a share of a real estate investment fund or venture capital fund with a minimum requested value of foreign currency or equivalent Turkish Lira and that the share has been held by the foreigner for at least three years
